More Amazing Pictures of Valley of Fire

Here are more pictures from our trip! I got so many, it's hard to decide which ones to post.

Valley of Fire

Our newest adventure was to Valley of Fire, Nevada! I had never heard of this being a desired destination for camping or hiking, but soon found out that it's one of nature's greatest secrets. A co-worker told me about Valley of Fire, mentioning it was great this time of year. Too our surprise we found this to be an awesome place for hiking! We camped for 3 days! The scenery there is outstanding. There are so many rocks and hiking paths to explore. Nicail and William loved playing in the sand and YES they discovered the lizards. One of the pictures shows them trying to get a chuckwalla out of a rock, lol. They were so determined to catch him, but it any of you don't know they have these funky air bladders and wedge themselves in rock crevices so predators (a.k.a. kids) can't get them, lol. Shanna and I experienced these lizards down the Colorado River! Unfortunately they didn't catch that particular lizard but later startled another in a cave and got the best of him. WELL until I made them let him go. We did a little geo-caching and saw some awesome petroglyphs on the rocks, it was amazing. This is a great destination for camping, but only in the winter months, it was 75 to 80 degrees when we were there, this summer will be scorching!

Kids Grow So Fast!

It's crazy to think that 10 years ago I was pregnant and having William. That seems so long ago! The time just seems to fly by. I remember Will as a cute little shy toddler, following me around. His first day of Kindergarden when I cried as I left the school. My little boy was growing up and I didn't have my shadow to follow me around anymore. He has grown into a great kid and I enjoy everyday watching him grow and learn about life. He loves Boy scouts, that one of his favorite activities. As all of you know his favorite past time is shooting guns and hunting. He has tons of guns! Airsoft guns that he has airsoft wars with the neighborhood kids, guns that we go target shooting with, bbguns, nerf guns, lol. He loves animals, we get new pets all the time. Will has had Sami our cat for 10 years, she sleeps with him every night and pretty much owns him. His dry sense of humor is hilarious, he always gets Nicail with a joke or two only because he is so serious and never cracks a smile. It makes her so mad, lol. We love you Will!

William's 10 years old!!

William had his 10th birthday on Monday. It wasn't the typical day given that he missed school and had to see the doctor half the day. Unfortunately William was in a accident over the weekend with his dad. He was on his motorcycle and got in the way of a four wheeler jumping a hill. An ambulance ride later, to see our favorite doctor in the world, Dr. Burst, Will was given the okay to go home, with minor injuries. Monday, when he saw a REAL doctor, it was confirmed that he only had a broken clavicle. Thank goodness that's all it was and he will be healed in no time!

Sadly enough that limited his birthday festivities, but we did manage to get over to the Pirate Island pizza place. The kids had so much fun playing the games, and winning tickets. If you haven't been there before its like Chucky Cheese but with a pirate theme. We had our little party group in a cave next to the game area. The kids had so much fun!

A big thanks to Cindy my sister, she has the knack for getting the best presents! My kids love to get packages from aunt Cindy. She gave Will some awesome stuff, he was thrilled. The rocket launcher was the hit of the neighborhood. Will was out there pumping it one handed and launching it way into the air!

Nice Sunny Day...

Sundays are such great days for family... It seems to be the day that we are all home and able to get out of the house. The weather lately has been so beautiful! I love springtime, it's one of my favorite seasons. We were discussing the blooming flowers in the spring at work yesterday. Snow Canyon Park has some beautiful blooming flowers in the spring!

This last Sunday we went to Cane Beds to go hiking. I know it doesn't look like much out there, but it has its hidden beauties. If you head out towards Mt. Trumbull there is an awesome canyon that is fun to hike. As kids my dad use to take us out there to look for petrified wood and we ran into some Indian ruins once as well. We couldn't find the Indian ruins Sunday but we did find some awesome rock formations and tons of petrified wood. Nicail got so lucky and came across a whole arrowhead laying on the ground! I have never seen someone find one before! She was so proud of it, lol. I told her that's a sign of luck!
